Issue with my P-07
« on: August 30, 2021, 04:55:14 PM »
When I bought my P-07 it came with the decocker on it. After shooting it for a while with the decocker on it I wanted to try using the safety. When I converted it to the safety the safety levers won't move to apply the safety. I followed the instructions that came with the P-07 and I looked it up online. When I put the decocker back on it the pistol functions perfectly and it functioned fine before I tried to switch it out today. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have no experience with the safety in my P-07's but I think I have seen it written here that it may require some fitting to interface properly with the sear.  Hopefully someone familiar with it will come along and provide a better explanation.  If you use the search function you may find some older posts about it.

Nothing extra needed to be done. Switching between decocker and safety is very easy and the only difference is the spring in decocker.
I switched between these several times without any issues.
Be sure the safety plastic plate and spring are on place in left lever, and both safety sides snap in completely, once you squeeze them together.

When I switch safety for the first time, I watched these video carefully to be sure, I was doing everything correctly:

Just like the decocker on some P-07's can rub the sear and cause a drag in the trigger pull the safety lever also on SOME GUNS needs a little stoning in one particular spot otherwise it can hang up as described. There is also a thread about that here some where. You can also call Cajun Gun Works and they can walk you through the procedure to get the safety working.

My P07 was easy.

The P09 was a pain.  It was very, very tight.  I had to work the safeties up/down for a good bit to make them "wear in" to feel like the P07.  Worked them with right thumb, then the left thumb, then two thumbs on the left side and finally they got to feeling okay to me.

While not a P07/P09 my second P01 Omega would not work with the safeties when I got it.  I grabbed the Urban Gray P01 Omega and swapped the safeties from one to the other and then both guns were fine.

Little bit of clearance, or non-clearance, can be an issue.

Take a look at the fitting/trouble shooting video.  It's probably not going to take a lot of metal removal, so go slow and do fit/function checks often to make sure you don't take off too much metal.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I’ll rewatch both videos and try to switch to the safety again. Maybe I just missed something after I put the safety in. Thanks for your responses.
