Introduction and noob question
« on: May 30, 2013, 08:29:37 PM »
Hi everybody, this is my first post and i hope i'll not be immediatelly banned being my question....er....simple.
First of all let me tell you that i had some experience with different brands and different kind of weapons, but absolutelly new to the cz world, and i regret i didn't get in touch earlier.
Here is my question: after stripping the p07 i noticed that i got in the new ( i guess) recoil spring, the one inside the guide. When i started to remount i was not sure about the way i should put the spring guide: as you know, on one side there is a hole, in the other, thinner, no hole. Ok, so wich is the side that should be seen once the pistol is mounted? The hole or the other side? I was looking for pictures and saw both solutions so don't know what is wrong or what is right, might even be allright both. If i mount the guide with the "hole outside" seem like the part on the barrel has a smaller print, might be not enought; if i mount the guide with the hole inside, the guide comes a few millimiters out.......
Hope i've been able to explain my doubt. Thanx for reading.
Cheers

Very convoluted question and difficult for me to read.

Are you talking about the captive recoil spring?  If so, there is a smaller end, and a larger end that is pretty thick.  This thick part goes against the barrel.  The smaller end will protrude out the front of the slide a little.

This is the right way.  (Agreeing with MontanaCZ)

Thank you very much guys; excuse my simple english. Yes i was talking about the captive recoil spring. The thing confused me because in many pictures, even official ones by Cz, you can notice that the side of the guide with the hole appears in the external side. I guess it's a different type of guide.
Thanx again, doubt solved. ;)

Mines is marked 15 rounds but as I understand the base plate is a +2 so do you think I could load 17 in there with out any double feeding issues

I doubt you could install it (recoil spring/guide rod) backwards.  In order to get the back down against the barrel lug in the right spot the front of the rod has to be pushed into the hole under the barrel in the slide just a slight bit.  The larger end that goes against the barrel lug just won't let you push it into the hole in the slide.

By the way, you started off with one of the better CZs in my opinion.  A P07 (.40) was my first CZ and in spite of all the other CZ's I've bought in the last 12 years or so it's still my EDC concealed pistol.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
