P10C NOT LOCKING BACK AFTER LAST ROUND (NOT A GRIP ISSUE)
« on: August 11, 2020, 10:32:46 PM »
My P10C has about 2000 rounds through it. As of lately, after the last round it won't lock back. I tried it again only loading half a magazine worth and it still won't lock back.  I've tried both the OEM magazines as well as another OEM mag with the shield arms 4+ mag extension and i get the same results.

That being said I cleaned the gun and removed the slide from the frame to make sure the slide stop was engaging when an empty magazine was inserted and its seems to being engaging just fine.

I know there is a few other post referring to a high grip and made that adjustment very earlier on after purchasing the pistol. So I know 110% it's not my grip in way kind of way.

Since I've noticed the issue I've tried 3-4 different brands of fmj ammo (all brass casings) to ensure it was the ammo. Still no improvement.....

at this point have no idea what it could be, my next guess would be potentially something with the recoil spring? Before going back to CZ, if anyone has idea what the hell is happening I'd greatly appreciate any advice....I love the gun and not knowing a solution is killing me....

Just wanted to register that I have the same issue, my P10C has around 600 rounds on it, and until recently it used to lock the slide back on the last round EVERY time, but from a few weeks to now, it almost never locks it back (say 1 in 10 mags)

Have you contacted CZ-USA? If it's under warranty they need too see it.

Even if the magazine spring is stout enough to push the follower up far enough to engage the slide lock when you hand cycle it that doesn't mean it is strong (and quick) enough to push the follower up all the way when the action is cycling.

I replaced some springs in some M&P magazines a year or so back for that same issue and they had no where near that many rounds on them.  When I pulled them out and compared the older magazine spring length to the springs from brand new magazines it was easy to see how short the older ones had become.  Like anything else, good and bad springs make it out of the factory in new magazines.

You could try removing the magazine spring, stretching it some by hand, reinstalling it and then going to the range to see if that makes the slide lock back.  If so - order some new magazine springs.  If you can find some in stock.  Just looked and hardly anyone even has magazines for sale.

If stretching the spring works then it'll work for a while but the spring is weak/worn and will compress again (faster than last time).
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

That's a good idea, I'll try that next time I go to the range
