Yet another Rami Sight Question

I have been reading up on the RAMI sights for awhile.  I have concluded I really do not want to cut into the slide for a red dot.  (I have a venom on myP-10s and do like it).  I will EDC only during the day and otherwise, its a range gun.   The p-10 gets most of the carry time with the red dot.  my old eyes are struggling with the meprosights.  I have dawson fiber sights on my P-06 (red front and green rears. set up for range shooting and those work great).  Fiber front alone is still a struggle for my eyes.   I am down to 3 options at this point and interested if your thoughts.  I cannot seem to find rear fiber optics for the rami.

1. XS Sights regular dot set up:
2. Dawson fiber front, retain current mepro rear night sights  and call it a day. not perfect but still better
3. XS Big Dot

Questions:

1. are the XS regular sights that much bigger and/or brighter than the mepro to justify the switch out?
2. if primarily a range gun, thinking I will be more frustrated with the big dots covering the targets and longer distances. what would be the cut off 11-15 yards+ knowing everyone's eyes will be a little different.  we do like to shoot the "battleship splatter targets"
3. are the standard XS sights a reasonable middle ground?

I did #2.  I did make the FO "mushroom" bigger to make easier to see.  Might work for you...

Well, from my experience with the xs big dot, I found that it really sucked balls. First of all, the front sight was so loose in the dove tail that you could push it around with your fingers. Even when I managed to glue it fast to the slide with lock tite, I found that the POI was a 6” “group” 8 inches below the POA at 10 ten yards. Horrible.

You might want to give a cut for a RDS another look. CGW has done a nice job on the Rami for Vinny and several others here. RDSs are the state of the art for handguns now, especially for those of us with “mature” eyes. If you don’t want to cut the slide, you could probably find a rail or other specific attachment for your RDS that would screw down onto the rear dovetail.

thanks for the replies. I ordered the XS sight regular sight and will give it a shot. if it does not work I will return it.  My local smith suggested the reg to give it a shot.  he too was not a Big Dot fan but that is a personal preference. he had not had any issues installing those on a rami.  I almost added the red dot.  however, at some point, it prices itself out from being an EDC and I would not want to lose it if I had to use it.  my p-10s is replaceable. if that makes sense. will post some pics when it they come in.
