Yes, it's more accurate than I am.

I just ran the NRA Sharpshooter course of fire last night with no major issues (30 feet).

Yes, it is surprisingly easy to flinch for some reason.  The recoil is fairly mild feeling, to be honest, (and I like the grip) so I'm not really sure why it's an issue.  It's my favorite pistol.

The slide is back in the shop.  After having in duracoated (see earlier thread for pics), it was smacking the brass on the side of the slide during extraction just above the extractor and about 1/4" back.  Chewed off the duracoat.  <cry>  So the smith has it and is going to apply a patch of something else there (some epoxy product he says will withstand the chewing).  A rectangular patch in some light color such as "stainless" so that it looks like what it's intended for (he doubted he'd be able to match the color on the rest of the slide or frame with a different product).  I'm excited to see what it will look like when he's done but I have to be without it until next monday <double cry>

I'm about out of ammo so I need to buy some more.  :)

Peace favor your sword,
Kirk

I'm glad I found this thread.  I have the same accuracy issues shooting this pistol.  It is by far the most difficult pistol to shoot accurately that I own.  When I first got it, I replaced the barrel with a NIB barrel and it didn't help.  Did the Harrington upgrades to the rollers and firing pin.  I even had Novak mill the slide for better sights.  Still sucks....

If I really focus & grip hard, I can get it to shoot.  If I rest the pistol, it's quite accurate.  There is something about the design that makes it very finicky to needing perfect grip and trigger control.  I really want to love this pistol, but it gives me grief.

I'm glad you found this thread valuable.  As I wrote years ago, the CZ 52 took some work on my part to shoot accurately.  All guns are loud, but the report when firing 7.62 x 25 got me flinching.  I have to zen out a little when shooting it, even to this day, even 25 years after buying my pistol.  I have other pistols that I shoot accurately much more instinctively, like my P-10C or even my little Taurus Spectrum.

Keep up the good work.
