I screwed up - SA won't engage the hammer DA will - PCR

So in my infinite wisdom, I put the disconnector and hammer spring strue on the wrong side and put the cgw hammer pins in and now I can't get them out.

Suggestions?

The pins aren't moving at all.



New problem - DA and half cock, the hammer will engage when I pull the trigger.... SA, it will not UNLESS I give a tiny bit of pressure down on the trigger bar. Is this solely a trigger bar spring issue now?

These are small parts, so you need good hard bench block. Start with starter punch and a big hammer.

Yes as stated you need a strong supportive block and a proper sized punch and they will come out. Be patient, take your time. Walk away in frustration rather than continuing and take a break.

The worst thing is to mess up with action parts. I'd call CGW, since these are their parts.
My guess is there is something not right with disconnector fitting.
You can always try to use factory disconnector to verify the problem.

What parts have you installed?  You have to give us the information about the gun and rework performed to be able to help you.  Have you polished anything?  What specifically have you touched/replaced?  Does it not reset in SA or does the hammer not fall in SA or both?

Did you install a trigger with an overtravel screw?  If so, did you back out the set screw?

The right side trigger bar spring should be about 4mm up when pulled just inside the triggerbar.  The Left side should just be above the at rest position in the groove.

So, full replacement  (all relevant CGW parts were added to the frame. I had previously done the springs for the slide and the new firing pin roll pin.). No polishing. The hammer does not fall in SA. It will fall in DA and appears to work as it should. However, if I apply a small amount of pressure in SA by pressing the trigger bar down while pulling the trigger, the hammer will fall.

I do have the adjustable trigger. I'll try Backing the screws out. I'll also check the spring and see what's up. I'm thinking that's the case... Maybe too much upward tension.

So it appears there was too much upwards tension from the trigger bar spring. Bent it a bit and it works.
