TSO v. TS2 triggers
« on: January 01, 2022, 08:29:16 PM »
I’ve gotten conflicting reports from CZ and from people who don’t actually own both guns… does anyone with trigger time on both know of the pull weights and feels are the same? I was originally told that by CZ customer service but a later inquiry got me a “well they’re a little different” response. Thanks and happy new year

I don't have a TS2, but do have two TSO's.

On the TSO's, there is a screw to adjust the pre-travel, and another screw to adjust over-travel of the trigger.  There are no reviews that I have seen that indicate  the TS2 has the pre-travel adjustment.

Those two adjustments have a value that may, or may not interest you.

Also, if you discover that there is a pre-travel adjustment on the TS2 let us know.

I have a TSO, as well as a czechmate and have held and finger f**ked 2 TS2s. All feel pretty similar if just operated normally. If the triggers are slowly pressed there are slight differences. With the trigger gauge they are all under 2lbs but usually more then 1lb 7oz give or take a few ozs. Biggest difference is the TSO trigger is metal and the TS2 is plastic. Same as the czechmate.

Full disclosure I haven't handled a TS2.

Honestly, the only reason to get the TS2 over the TSO is the updated frame and slide.  The internals are not an upgrade.  The TSO is hand fit and finished and should out shoot the TS2 for that reason alone.  Either trigger is going to be lighter than you need and either gun will outshoot your ability.  How the gun fits and feels in your hand is what you should be asking yourself.  I get it, you probably can't handle both much less either one in person before purchasing.

I have a lot of trigger time on my 2 TSO's in USPSA limited.  I have tuned the triggers to increase the pull (stock 1.75lb and now ~2.75lb) and put CGW hammers on both of them to improve the wall/feel of the trigger pull.  The CZ competition hammer is very light and crisp but the feel is vague.  The CGW hammer gives a better wall and actually eliminates the very limited amount of creep with the CZ comp hammer.  What I'm trying to say here is that you can tune the trigger if needed fairly easily if you don't like it stock.

I assume the TS2 action is unchanged from the TSO which is mostly unchanged from the original TS lineup.  The ergonomics are what gets updated with these guns.

Cheers,
Toby

Did installing the CGW hammer change the stock pull weight any? If so how?
Thank you
Randy

Randy,

Yes it increased my trigger pull by ~5 oz.  It does as advertised, increase the pull weight, provides a wall to stage/prep trigger, and is actually more crisp than the CZ competition hammer.  If you feel that the trigger on your TS/TSO is too light and difficult to stage/prep, this is your ticket.
