Damage or rough machining on slide rail - added better photo
« on: February 19, 2022, 06:30:57 AM »
I'm looking at a 75b on Gunbroker right now and in the (very small) photo it looks like the slide rail has some very rough machining,or was somehow damaged.
Seller says it is just the black finish wearing off??

Here's what I can see in the photo

How much should I care about this?

Oooo, yuck. That looks like pitting to me. It can be cleaned up (I've done worse) but I would hope the price would reflect that.
No matter where you're going, there you are.

the slide rail looks the cut of a door key.

Do you have a 75 slide to compare that picture to?

It doesn't look like any of mine.

Same here. Just looked at 3 of mine and none look like that. They all have those basic cuts but don't have the extra metal missing.

Unless it is dirt cheap I wouldn't buy it. I wonder what the frame looks like.

Looks like a defect.  I would pass.
