Radical Firearms/SIG M400
« on: March 03, 2022, 08:48:27 AM »
I hope it is OK to ask.  The other day a buddy let me run a few rounds through his AR.  I must admit it was nice.  I am toying with the idea of picking one up.  My Scorpion needs a chum after all.   I am leaning towards either the SIG M400 or one manufactured by Radical.  The price point on the Radical is nice but I prefer to spend hundreds of dollars on something that does not jam.  Anyone have experience with either the SIG or the Radical? Thanks in advanced!

Don't have either one but arcom sings the praises of the SIG rifles (5.56 and 7.62).

If I were buying a complete rifle I'd check out the SIG rifles (well, the AR15 types).
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I would say Sig is a higher quality rifle. Radical has come a long way for sure. Sig also has excellent customer service if there is an issue. I think another one worth a look is the S&W and Palmetto State rifles. Both companies also have excellent customer service (I have used both).

Yeah....I am a strong lean towards the Sig.  I may do it today.  I need to hit the range to zero in my red dot on my Scorpion anyway.  I will be right there.  It seems to get nothing but praise.  I like the skeleton stock on the Radical but that can be swapped out on the Sig at a minimal price.

I would not buy a Sig AR-15. I sold mine. Terrible piece of garbage. I don't know the other brand, but Sig AR  is a disaster. MCX is ok, but a regular AR is a nightmare.  If I had to buy an AR right now, I would save money and buy either a Lancer or a JP.

May I ask what made it terrible?  Did it jam a-lot?  At the end of the day this will be a range gun.  I hope I never need a SHTF gun.  Which by the way why I bought my scorpion.  I wanted something more than my 75B.

I just looked at your suggestions.  The L15 DEFENSE...yes please.  I would need to wait and save up a smidge longer.

Worst trigger ever and wasn't accurate regardless of ammo. I did not want to make a guarantee claim, so I sold it to a rookie SIG enthusiast. Hahaha.

I have a Radical Firearms AR-15, it runs flawlessly. Had awful trigger, but put CMC single stage in and it is much better.

The trigger keeps coming up.  There are a lot of things I like about the Radical.  If it is cost efficient to swap out the trigger I could do that. I do not know enough about swapping out triggers to be able to make that decision. I like the skeleton stock, the shorter hand guard and the straighter grip.  Oh and it is made in the States.  That is important to me.
