P10S vs SiG P365XL
« on: March 09, 2022, 05:30:00 AM »

Could anyone who owns/has fired these two pistols share their thoughts on which they prefer?

I am considering replacing my P10S with a 365XL as my EDC based on the fact that on paper it has a slimmer grip (girly hands here).

My main concern is that the SiG has been criticized of having a "mushy" trigger while I am quite happy now that I put an HBI Theta trigger and spring kit on my P10S.

Thanks in advance!

I have both a SIG 365 and CZ P10S. Of the two for carry, I prefer the SIG. On mine, the stock trigger is fine and I prefer it over the P10S; as another point of reference  my P10 S is not as good as my P10c.

Both will serve you fine, comes down to preference IMO

I own a P365X and I think the trigger pull is fine.  As always a lot of it comes down to personal preference.  Some hate the flat faced trigger, I kinda like it.  You should try rent a P365XL and see if you like it.  It's so popular almost every gun range should have one to rent.

Also if you feel like splurging, they have a new spectre comp version with an integrated comp, but it will set you back $1,300.  The recoil on my P365X is quite snappy, so again I think you should try to actually shoot one before buying to see if it's something you'd really want to carry.

I owned a P365XL with a Holosun 407K optic and didn't like the grip because it was TOO narrow for my hands.  I also did not care for the trigger, even after I had a SIG armorer install an MCarbo spring set in it.  I just couldn't shoot the pistol as well as I would have liked and really didn't like the trigger. I sold the pistol.

I currently own a CZ P10S.  CZ Custom machined the slide and installed a Trijicon RMRcc mini red dot optic, complete with a CHPWS backup iron sight, which fits right in the housing of the optic.  Also installed an HBI trigger.  I very much prefer this pistol over the SIG, and can shoot it much better, though I still don't have a lot of experience with it.  It has functioned with zero problems with four different brands of ammo and two handloads, and accuracy is very good.

All of the 365 firearms have a grip that is too small and narrow for my hand.  It just doesn't feel comfortable to me.

Most Sigs I've tried needed a break-in period. I got a P10s a few weeks ago and it ran flawlessly right out of the box. Every CZ I've had ran like that. I just trust them more.
I've found that growing up in the sixties was a lot more fun than being in my sixties.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Really appreciate it. Hard for me to compare weapons where I live.

The fact that the consensus is the 365 grip is too narrow is a really positive thing for me, IMHO.

I will add that I added the inexpensive houge grip sleeve to my 365 and it made a world of difference. IIRC it cost $8.

I am just getting back in to the P365 after a couple years. I got one right when they came out and it had issues, so once Sig fixed it I traded it off and stuff with the M&P Shield. Well, I just picked up a new P365XL in order to mount a dot on it. The grip is perfect for my hand. It is a little wider that the Shield Plus I currently carry, but shorter front to rear. I have mediumish hands I guess. As example the DA trigger reach on my SP-01 tac is a long reach for me and I barely get the pad of my finger on it. I would say the plus with the P10S would be if you already have and use a P10C or F. Then you could share mags and it is a exact manual of arms to your other handguns. I used followed this method in the past with a Glock 22, 23 and 27 and then later with a P320 Subcompact, compact and full size.

Another thing I have really been thinking about lately is spare parts availability. It is almost impossible to find CZ spare parts, but Sig parts can be had easily. I have been looking for slide stops and recoil springs for the P07 & P09 for months and always out of stock. Really getting old and has me thinking of moving away from CZ as a primary platform. The P10 series may be a different story since striker fired is most popular these days.

I have the Sig P365xl one of my close friends has a CZP10s. I shot his 10s for around 300 rounds at different times. The 10s is noticeability heavier and it's has a fatter gun feeling between the two. Both triggers are about the same but feel different. Accuracy is very close, although being that the 10s is heavier/a bit fatter, I expected the 10s to be more accurate yet very little difference. I really like the Sig because it's a modular gun and you can customize yourself with a gunsmith, it's easy to work on. Both guns have a very good fit and finish, I like both. I shot the 10s because I've owned many CZ's and thought I'd get another, but decided to purchase a Kimber R7 Mako.

As a side note my Kimber R7 Mako has by FAR better trigger than the two above, right out of the box. Plus there's nothing I want to do to the gun, it looks great and great accuracy, at least as good if not better than the two above an is easier to CC the the above two. The Kimber was a big surprise to me, being as good as it is. I have owned Kimber 1911's  and they were good guns. AS always it's IMO YMMW.
