RMR making 9mm case with different internal shape
« on: October 07, 2022, 03:57:02 PM »
Apparently RMR is now making 9mm brass cases more or less designed to more easily accommodate 147 gr bullets? Never heard of anyone changing the configuration of brass like this. Has anyone tried this brass?  I have shot lots of 147gr and do indeed have some bullets that are fairly touchy for this reason...

Where the case wall starts to thicken is totally up to the maker. In my thinking, there's no SAAMI spec on that, it's simply a matter of what the alloy will allow without blowing out.

Maybe they got StarLine to make a batch (with a stronger alloy ?) that's slightly more recessed ??

And significantly cheaper than Starline.  $115 per 1K vs $161.50
If I had known how much better being retired is than working I would have done it FIRST.
