confused about CZ75 model# 99021
« on: July 30, 2019, 05:33:02 PM »
I have a CZ75 Compact with the mod# 99021. I have a lot in it as far as what I traded for it a couple years ago. Im a CZ fan and when I saw it and researched it they were said to be rare. Im thinking, rare CZ, a limited run of about 1500 in the USA, it can only increase in value, right? Well now Im being told that its not rare and only worth about 2/3s of what I have in it. Is it rare, and is it worth more than a typical 75 Compact. Thanks in advance.

Shoot it and enjoy it. If you thought you'd sell it for 2-3-4 times what you paid you probably won't live too see that happen. If it's still in pristine shape then hey it's probably worth what they sold for new but beyond that the market sets the price and it's worth what the market is willing to withstand.Could be worth more? Colt guys that sat too long on their snake guns are seeing some decrease in value now since Colt came back out with the Cobra models and now the market anticipates more models so the value adjusts to that anticipation.

I sold my 99021 for what I bought it for a few months back, but it easily would have gone to $700 at the time.  It was unmodified.

You're right about the number imported. The rest...hard to say. Personally I don't think they are worth a premium over the P-01, I'd actually prefer the lighter frame of a P-01 for that type of pistol. However, some people will pay a bit of a premium for them. I've seen them sell in the $600-$800 range.

It's not a gun I would believe to greatly increase in value. Outside of truly rare and special stuff guns are not something I buy as an investment, I buy them because I like them or have a use for them.

From what I have read, the CZ75 Compact #99021 is rather rare and personally I would prefer a heavy, recoil absorbing, accurate compact for range shooting and home defense. I'm sure they would go for a premium, since they have not been available for years and there are no "SP-01 compacts" currently made.
