My first Cajun build on a Shadow 2
« on: June 18, 2022, 10:36:10 PM »
Due to the ‘situation’ up here in Canada now I sensed was coming I sold all my handguns over the last 6 months then bought a black optic ready Shadow 2 to be my keeper. Don’t compete just range shoot. We can’t carry up here.
Took a while here but I sourced all the individual parts for a CGW Pro Kit plus the 10X barrel bushing plus a bunch of additional backup CZ and CGW parts.
Finished the install a few days ago. 11.5 main/hammer with DA 6.5, SA 2.8 on my gauge. Haven’t polished yet, saving that for the winter. Amazing SA trigger.
First time I’ve attempted minor gunsmithing and it went really well with CGW advise/videos.
I bought an additional CZ mainspring strut for the CGW comp hammer and T6 discon so I could keep the OEM one stock in case I ran into issues. No issues arose.
The morning after the upcoming ‘new handgun ban’ I bought another Shadow 2 Urban grey and am now sourcing all the Pro Kit parts/10X barrel bushing for it.

The only ‘stressful’ moments during the build we’re punching out the stock trigger pin, which CGW’s punch made easy and banging out the barrel bushing with an 11mm socket and a BFH. 2 hits.

Thanks. They do. Have another CZ Shadow 2 coming now. Ordered it very early the morning after the CDN handgun ban was announced. Now collecting all the Cajun parts for its Pro Kit build.

Great report. I will be following in your footsteps (metaphorically speaking) with an SP01 and 75B this winter.
Do you mind giving more details on the Canadian Handgun ban. Down here in California I missed out on that news.
No target is too large or to close to miss.

Here's a link to the build I did:

https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/2286263-Did-a-CZ-Shadow-2-Cajun-Pro-Kit-build

The 'Liberal' Gov't decided they would ban all handgun imports and transfers. They stopped imports about a month ago and will ban future transfers in October.
Bottom line is we can keep and use the handguns we have but can't transfer them to anyone else. That means they will have to be handed in and destroyed on the owners death.
There is some hope a Gov't change may at least allow transfers between licence holders and hopefully passed down to family.

IMHO there should be some flexibility on the act. It somehow sounds harsh and hard to take in for me
