Concealed carry vest
« on: November 23, 2022, 04:47:41 PM »

I would like to purchase a concealed carry vest.  I am looking at a Aenado vest @ $139.99 and a Legendary Whitetail concealed carry Cross Trail vest @ $89.99.  Any thoughts or opinions on these vests or recommendations for a different one?

I can't imagine those type of vests would be as stable or secure as a quality holster on a quality belt. I've never seen anybody that carries a gun professionally use one, that may tell you something...

Can't comment on the two makes you mentioned, but I use a Coranado Leather vest. Coranado makes a number of different styles. The holster that come with the Coranado vest is a bit rinki dinki so I went with one of Crossbreed Holsters modular holsters that will work with the vests Velcro panel. The pistol is accessed thru an inside pocket. If things look backwards to you, it's because I'm a lefty. I like the vest carry as it gets everything off my belt but leaves it accessible.

Thank you David.  I will check out your vest.  It looks great.  I plan to carry either a compact or subcompact.

David, I looked up the company that makes your vest and they only make leather vests.  They are very well made but I live in South Carolina and a leather vest would be out of place.

I wear vests to aid in concealment, but not to carry a sidearm, as it would have VERY unnaturally, especially a cloth vest. I can see rigid leather working better. I have a thin travel vest I use during fall/spring, and a heavier Wolverine vest during winter - it IS Arizona...

Check wyomingtraders.com. I picked up an oiled canvas vest with a leather collar for under $80. They have a number of different options (including jackets). Conceal carry on either side, and room for magazines.

I prefer the over sized baseball jersey with a good OWB kydex holster.
