The defeating a safety feature argument is moot unless it is explicitly stated I can not alter it. In which case I will buy another IDPA gun. [emoji3]

Why not run the Shadow? She's overweight [emoji1787]

IDPA Rule Stating Not Allowed:
Quote
8.1.7.4 Disconnecting or disabling of safety devices including (but not limited to): manual safeties, firing pin, striker,
and hammer blocking safeties. 1911 series 80 frames may be used with series 70 slides or vice versa. Revolver
actions may not be modified so that the hammer can fall when the cylinder is open.

The Shadow 2 is overweight but the standard SP01 Shadow/Shadow Target/Shadow Target II is not (very similar to your SP01 manual safety but without a firing pin block).

Or you could get the new Shadow 2 Compact and run that.  I'm sure that makes weight.

Having run a SP-01 Tactical for years and now running an AccuShadow 2, I can assure you it's negligable the difference on the clock.  You have done the best mods you can legally do to that action for gun games.  The change in reset between a block and nonblock can and will be accounted for/built into muscle memory through training and use.  It might impact splits slightly but if you are worried about your splits then you must be a top tier nationally recognized shooter.  Most of us need to work on minimizing the time you're not shooting (movement, shooting into and out of positions, keeping the gun up and in position, subconcious gun handling, etc...) and shot calling.

I should note that I stopped shooting IDPA a years ago due to conflicting rules with USPSA.  My brain can't do both sports.

Cheers,
Toby

100% agree Toby, working on movement, transitions etc... I have a long way to go.
The gun stuff is just tinkering to know my equipment well. Kinda like a drive needs to know a bit about suspension to be a good racer... imo
