Shadow 2 trigger press with SP-01
« on: November 27, 2022, 03:11:24 PM »
How close to the S2's SA can one get with the right parts?  I've been an S2 for a while, but decided it wan't necessary after moving my SP-01s to competition use only.  I would still like that sweet, sweet SA press and wonder if it's possible with the right parts.  One of my Sp01s has the CGW Short Reset Kit, the other has not had any trigger work done.

haven't shot an S2 SA but you can get a really great trigger out of a stock SP-01 and that's coming from a triggersnob. I personally think the S2 is a waste of money if you like SA. I have converted all my 75s over to SAO and am about to do the same with the 97s.

I also haven't shot a Shadow 2 SAO but I don't think you should have any problem making your SP01 to have a just as nice or better trigger with the right parts and polish. I also have converted my two SP01s to SA and the one 75b that I have. I do have four 75b SAs that I have put different uppers on and are very happy with them. Honestly for me I don't see a need for a double action trigger except for if you have a Kadet kit on top and it doesn't go bang the first time.

I should clarify.  I meant the SA from the DA/SA version of the Shadow 2--not the SAO version.  Looking at my OP, I see there is room for misunderstanding.

I sent an e-mail to CGW asking their opinion, and they recommended the Pro-Package for 75 Manual Safety (75110).

@Redhemi: I need DA in order to run these guns in USPSA Carry Optics.

And that's a good reason to have double action. The pro package won't let you down. I have it installed in my 97b and before I made it single action I had it in one of my SP01s. There are various "How To" vids and info in the gunsmithing section that are a big help. Good luck, be safe and have fun.
