If you happened to buy a CZ 75 short rail / short slide on gunbroker, and this image is the closing auction, you may want to look into that box. The original short rails came in an orange box. I mean, that box in the image is depicting a gun that wasn't even designed yet. So it is obviously unrelated. Just hoping someone here didn't pay a high price for a decent short rail with a useless box.
All things considered though, the price isn't exactly high. Just that it may have gone for more than it should have because someone who didn't research it thought "oh, box and test paper is legit original and makes for a better collection" ... but not if it has nothing to do with the gun. So... just a public service announcement... if this was you, you might want to consider opening a discussion with the seller because this is sort of in the avenues of fraud if you ask me. The listing didn't specifically say the box was related to this gun, but for the love of man it should have clarified that. It's just rude not to.
I would say a reasonable price for a 78 short rail these days is about $2,000 in excellent shape. Serial was 12383. Even with the minor blemishes that would be fair without the box. If the box was legit real, with test papers, it could be a full $1,000 more. But this auction... I'm calling bamboozle here.
