Why does different torque settings on the action screws effect accuracy or bind action?

Changing action screw torque affects the harmonics in the barreled action.

If there is binding present. The action is being bent as the action screw torque is increased. Therefore not allowing the bolt to operate smoothly. This would be a bedding issue.

Hope this helps.

Having read your previous posts you're using a KRG Bravo chassis. KRG's instructions say to use 45 inch pounds of torque while the FAQ on CZ USA states to use 25 inch pounds on all CZ wood stocks and 35 inch pounds on stocks like Manners stocks and chassis. I have my rifle in a MDT XRS chassis and their instructions are 60-65 for that chassis in general (that seems like a lot to me). They do have this on their website: [ https://support.mdttac.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024683311-What-are-the-torque-specs-on-the-action-screws-for-my-chassis- ] which leads me to take advice from CZ.

All that said I've read a lot about people doing trials of different torques for accuracy results and their are a lot of results/opinions. For me, I went with what CZ USA recommends i.e. 35 inch pounds and called it a day. I have a Lilja barrel on my rifle and I'm happy (for now) with the results. On other CZs I've used as little as 18 inch pounds and I can't tell a difference. Like said there are a lot of opinions out there (Lordy! there are a bazillion opinions on how to clean a rimfire rifle). If you like to tinker get an accurate ammo and go run some trials, in the end you are going to have to be the one to decide what you like.

As I wrote in other post try Rimfire Central, there is a lot more there about CZ 22s than here.
