CZ 24/27?
« on: April 14, 2023, 09:08:47 PM »
Hi

I picked up a CZ but not sure if its a 24 or 27
The top of the slide is CESKA ZBROJOVKA v PRAZE 1159** with a small mark after that
The rear site is drift type

The left side of the slide is marked cz 27 with the arrow between the cz Below that the frame is CZ with the arrow between the cz with the matching number The slide has the 5 angles serrations

On the right side frame up front by the barrel with the matching numbers At the rear of the frame is faint cz then J some sort of mark and 28

Below the trigger guard is 258D

The grips are wood

It is not 32 ACP but 380 Its a rotating barrel and the barrel has the matching numbers

It seems to be a CZ 24 but nowhere is it marked CZ 24 just the CZ 27 on the slide

Any idea why its marked CZ 27

Any idea what year?

Thanks for any help

Norton Jim

Great first post!
Posting pictures will help, it is a bit of a pain to do, but it makes it easier for the experts here to see what you are looking at.
Here's a good cz24 reference that might help.

Thanks

Buffones pictures are just what I have but the CZ 27 mark on the side was throwing me off

The auction house where I got it was off as well  They listed it as CZ 27 in 32 acp  When I picked it up I knew it was a 380

I will try to get some pictures up  but I got an answer that the 24 came out in 27

In any case it works well and is in great shape

Thanks for the info

Here’s a nice sample of an experimental vz. 24 in DAO that has the same year proof marks as yours. It’s in the Czech Army museum.

NortonJim - You have CZ 24.  Wonderful pistols.  I collect these and CZ 27s.

Below the trigger guard is 258D

Per the RJ Berger book the 258D states the gun was issued to the:

258 Section or Regiment
D Artillery
