TS2 vs Shadow 2 accuracy?
« on: December 30, 2022, 12:58:59 PM »
Is the TS2 more accurate off the bench?
Anyone have groups from 25 and 50 yards?

I think that is going to be difficult to prove.  My gut says the ts variants are more accurate for a number of reasons: longer barrel length, sear cage stability springs, and lighter trigger.    My real world testing (TSO against an accushadow 2 mind you) shows they are about the same.

I think they both are great platforms out of the box.

Pick your action and be happy shooting small groups!

Cheers,
Toby

For reference, I shoot sub 3 inch groups with both, freestyle at 25yds.

That is my standard practice warmup.  It tells me if I'm shooting well at that specific moment.

If your going convert to sao, you might as well grab the ts variant.  It has a better design for the trigger return spring and sear cage.

So do you feel the TS2 is overall a better pistol then a Shadow2?

I looked up freestyle shooting and it did not explain exactly what it was.  Do a Google search on freestyle pistol shooting and you will not find a definitive answer.

Freestyle: two handed standing shooting.  Not rested or supported in any way.

The TS2 is a different animal.  They both are good at their purpose in the gun games.

It has a longer sight radius, better SA trigger but takes different magazines if you are a czoholic.

The Shadow 2 is more versatile really, you can run it in production, carry optics, and limited if you really wanted.  It's more suitable for defense than the TS2 as well.

I'm way too late to the party, but here's my two cents.

I compared SH2 and TS2 on the range. Didn't have that much time with it, but what caused me to get the TS2 was:

* definitely a better trigger
  * you can change out the SH2 to get closer to TS2, but it's additional work and money
* longer sight radius really helps
* I actually think I felt that the TS2 was "tighter", but maybe those were just differences between units
* I just shot the TS2 better - tighter groups

Before I bought the TS2, I was looking for a gun to shoot "freestyle" like @tdogg mentioned -> basically bullseye amateur league. In professional bullseye competitions, i.e. ISSF, guns like this won't even be accepted (caliber, fiber optic front sight) and you have to shoot one handed. In order to do the latter and hit central 10s, you really need an ergonomic grip. But I digress. In my humble opinion (and that's really subjective), the TS2 is the sweet spot for that kind of shooting. If you don't want to buy a typical bullseye gun or spend thousand of dollars more on a custom 1911/2011, this is the best gun for an amateur bullseye shooting (and of course you can participate in IPSC Standard with it). It's not that pricey compared to other ones, for just a target shooting it's better than the SH2. And it's a CZ!

As for the accuracy - I don't think that there's much difference. I would give the edge to TS2, but nothing to write home about. The best accuracy measure is: "how well can you shoot that particular gun".
