With bonus of only a 2.2X scope at 50yds, where the 1.25" pink dot target completely hidden by crosshair intersection, plus Federal bulkpack HVHPs, AND only rest a backpack stuffed with a pillow.

On average, using a 10 shot magazine, it will put 6 of the 10 into 0.337" and throw 4 shots opening it to 1", this over 12 magazines.

For a dinky little (just) sub-5lb rifle, am sure I should feel disgusted, but I am not. Neither is a pal who owns one for strictly suppressed where he opines it shoots far better than him. where I suspect the same for self.

I sure would be happy with that accuracy. What model of Scout is that? 452, 455, 457?

With a stronger scope, better rest, better ammo, better shooter, it would do better...I just wanted to show what can be done with nice cheap hunting ammo in the field. The gun is a 457 Scout, I bought the laminate stock version which dupes the wood in every respect, mainly as the DLC/nitride metal mostly rustproof, and thought a stock equally moisture resistant for.hunting made sense. The low powered Leupold Ultralight 2.5x only adds 6ozs and rings 3ozs to keep it light and handy.

By way of comparison, 20yrs or so back, I had a nice match barrel single shot where the Federal bulk pack would do about the same and likewise throw 2-3 shots outside the unrecalled exact measurement sub-1/2" group.

I had better eyes then, and so the Scout averaging 4 fliers with low powered scope was no suprise. Same as over 20yrs ago, I figured if I could tag 8 squirrel for every 10 shots, I could not complain. And most fliers still would be so close to the rest as to make no difference. Keep in mind even an average 1"/50yd gun is going to.place shots on average within 1/2" of POA. You don't miss anything but the smallest of targets with such accuracy, with any misses generally the fault of the shooter.
