My new p10f. Came from the factory with the edge of the barrel lug slightly marred. It fires gr8 seems accurate. But it bothers me a little. I called customer service hoping I might get a new barrel. The rep said something that puzzled me. That a replacement barrel isn't drop in. It must be fitted by a gun Smith. That cant be so. It is basically like glock. I can order after market barrels online to drop straight in. Is she mistaken? Probably thinking of a match grade competition pistol I'm guessing.

So pack it off to CZ-USA and let them fit a barrel. Nothing hard or expensive about that.

That is a little surprising.  Might be that the replacement barrels are those that were a little too tight for a production line gun so were set aside for replacements.  I can guarantee you the tolerances on a P-10F are much tighter than a Glock, much closer to a match grade competition pistol, and this started with the P-09's, of which I have two, and won many local bullseye matches with.  Even a P-10S is dang tight and will allow an experienced shooter to achieve better groups from a rest at 100 yards than anyone ever expected.

There's always that liability thing.

Some vendors/makers recommend having parts fitted.  Some don't give you the option.  Remember, we live in a world where people can sue (and win) because freshly made coffee is hot, plastic soda bottles can bust when dropped on a hard surface, car companies are at fault because people steal the cars the make, etc.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Customer service at cz us is stellar. I figured they wouldn't send one. They are sending one to me in the mail. The rep asked me to have a smith fit it. I will call around for one. Just curious, if a barrel isn't fitted perfect is it likely to kaboom? I wont risk it. Just wondering

That's pretty standard and the response a lot of manufacturers give even if there is a 90%+ chance it will drop right in and be fine. Just due to tolerances some stuff does occasionally need to be fitted.

If it drops right in by gravity and the slide racks  should I be good to go? I looked up up fitting a barrel. Apex has a YouTube video. Looks simple enough but I dont own a jig.

I got my new cz barrel. It didnt appear to need fitting for size. The barrel dropped right in. The feed ramp on the new one is much shallower steeper than the original, not nearly as deep and wide as the original. It feed ball ammo. Failure to load hollow points. Having the feed ramp milled out more isn't normal gunsmith fitting right? I sent an email with comparison pics. I'm sure they'll take care of it. I'd post a pic here but I cant seem to do so.
