Gen1 vs gen2 Phantom

I am looking to pick up a Phantom. Has anyone had any issues with the earlier gen1 Phantoms? Thanks!

Have had one for quite awhile with many rounds fired. Only issue, and it’s documented on the web, some newer mags are too thick to drop free on some guns. These are usually the 18 MecGar with the +2 extension. Older 16s and OEM sp01 with the full length metal body are golden. I’ve got newer slicker guns but she is still a trusted favorite.

Mine has a 2010 born on date (so I think that makes this a Gen1) and I bought the Phantom used. In the time I have owned the pistol, everything has been 100% reliable for feeding, firing and ejecting. The only issue it had was the rear tritium sight loosened up, so I had to shim under the sight with a piece of aluminum cut from a cider can.
