Shadow 2 SAO: Lack of Tacticle/Audible Reset
« on: July 10, 2023, 09:49:58 PM »
Have a Shadow 2 that I converted to SAO/adj trigger early on when it was new.
Just did a teardown and clean/spring replacement @ 6,200 rounds. Have a 13# recoil spring and 13# hammer/main spring.
Installed a reduced power trigger return spring. Reset is good, short. My only complaint is I can't feel the trigger when it resets nor can I hear it.
Is the lack of tactile/audible reset due to the RP TRS or ????

Weak reset is a common complaint with the RPTRS. You can try removing the spring and spreading it open a little to slightly increase tension. Pull weight will increase slightly but not very noticeably. If that doesn't get you the reset you want, you can reinstall the oem spring which will increase pull weight by about a half lb. over the RPTRS. Everything is a compromise, lighter TRS = reduced pull weight and weaker reset.

Thanks Earl for the quick response. I had heard there were issues with the oem trigger springs breaking although that never happened to me. I figured as long as I had the gun apart I would be pro active and replace the oem with the RP TRS. Trigger pull weight reduction was not a consideration.

Thanks much!

Update: reached out to CGW to inquire about oem trigger bar spring as they are not shown on the website.
Fellow named Patrick responded, told him of my issue and he referred me to a tutorial link on their website re: adjusting the trigger bar spring, here:

Adjusted the trigger bar spring per the tutorial and now all is good.

Shout out and many thanks to Patrick and CGW!!!

Did you adjust the trigger bar spring or the trigger return spring(trs)?

Trigger bar spring, Earl, per the tutorial.
Thanks
Ypu also said you adjusted the TRS, that is the spring that affects reset feel.

Apologize for that Earl. I corrected my comment to read trigger bar spring.
Thanks for the heads up!
