PCR for EDC
« on: July 11, 2023, 09:25:03 PM »
I picked up a PCR to use as an EDC about a month ago.   I ran a quick 260 rounds through it and all was good.  Then, I ordered a CGW Standard kit, Night Fision front sight and made a solid guide rod from an mold ejector pin.

Today was the range trip to see how it came out and I'm happy with the results.   The 9# DA is down to 8# and 4.5# SAis now 3.25#.  Polishing internally gave it a smooth DA.  The Night Fision fron sight is a bit wide for the stock PCR rear but it still gives a good Sig style combat sight picture.   I added a spare set of G10 grips and the gun is now ready for EDC.

My normal carry is a P229 and this feels both lighter and smaller while being very easy to shoot well.

Sweet! We should get together with the Wizard and have an all PCR day at the range.

I made a similar EDC switch from a P220 several years ago and never looked back.

Several extra rounds and dropped 1/4 pound of weight if I remember correctly.

My PCR is inside my waistband from the time I get up until I go to bed. A great carry gun.
Last week I installed a set of XS DXT2 Big Dot sights on it and I’m well pleased with them. I’ve not seen any light conditions in which they’re not usable. Accuracy is not as good as regular sights but the accuracy is perfectly good for intended purposes.
