98/29 Persian Mauser

     Does anybody know how many of these were exported to Iran? I know Iran ordered 180,000? of them but the order was interrupted by WWII.
     I know Iran made some under license but am only interested in the Czech made rifles that are better quality.

but a unsolicited suggestion/hints if you don't get the answer here.

Try googling for mauser forum/boards/collectors.

you will find that there are forums/boards/collectors for just about everything out there.   While some on this board may have 1 or 2 or more, you are way better off asking a board/forum that focused on the subject.

and do you have a library or bookshop in your area?  thats another resource people overlook/dis.

And on that Mauser collector board, see if you can find someone using the screen name professor or some variation. He's in Calgary AB and a true M98 lover.

I used to have his email but that was a couple of email servers ago - still looking as I rarely throw out anything.
