Picked up my Compact DWX today
« on: June 27, 2023, 10:54:25 PM »
Got to put 100 rounds through it before it got dark. Absolutely love it  ;D

Only issue I ran into is that the compact mags with the thick base plates won't seat. All the others ran without issue.

Now I'm looking for a holster if anyone wants to point me to a good source

What type of holster are you looking for? My DWX Compact bluegun just came in a couple days ago.

Congratulations on an absolutely beautiful gun!  The DWX Compact as well as the DWX full size have been picking up fantastic reviews from everyone.

At first I was a bit disappointed that this version didn't have the rail on it and decided to wait for the version with the rail, but after looking at it a while, I got to really appreciate the clean, sexy, uncluttered lines of this version.

Fortunately I found one just yesterday at a killer price so I'll be adding the DWX Compact to my DWX full size in a few days. ****Well scratch that. Placed the order yesterday, paid for it and everything,  but was notified today that due to an inventory mistake they are out of stock. So I guess the searching process will begin again.

Great looking pistol! Am close to picking one up. Think I'll add some red base plates. When you get a holster let us know how it EDC's. Checked with High Noon Holsters and they say they can't help. I like their Slide Guard model, rides very high and tight. Will check back with them as they might not have a blue gun yet.

How is the finish on the trigger holding up? I see a thread here about the finish coming off though I thing it is for a full-size DWX, not that that should matter.

It is normal to see wear on 1911 style triggers where the trigger moves into the frame and especially on those with an additional finish/coating. Nothing you can do to stop it.

Trigger on my full size DWX is showing a small amount of wear and I have run about 250 rds through it.

I wonder if a small piece of very fine sandpaper, like 1000 grit, could be slipped into frame beside trigger to wear off any burrs or high spots that might be causing the trigger wear?

Congratulations that is a really good looking gun, hopefully my local gun shop will get one in the near future so I can handle it.

Brownells sells a “trigger track stone” for 1911s that would probably be just what you need. Doesn’t take much to deburr the frame. BTW, this is a common problem with less than custom 1911s.
