'P-01 cams - some mistake this as creep'
« on: November 07, 2023, 07:25:35 AM »
I have heard that some single action/omega P-01 cam and that some mistake this as creep.  What is 'camming;?.  I have a P-01 Omega that creeps (cams?) pretty bad.  On the other hand, my sons P-01 Omega has a good, crisp trigger.  Can anything be don to get mine better?  Don't want to spend $300 at Cajun for a little cleanup...

I've had mine long enough I have probably over 1000 rounds through it.  I played with putting a 13# and 11# hammer springs in it.  But after I got it broke in I like the factory spring the best.  One thing I did to was pull out the hammer spring and take some find sandpaper and sand on the hammer strut.  I did it in the gun.  I tried to smooth out the corners and give the spring a smooth strut to slide on.  Then put some grease on the strut when I put the spring back in.  That took out a lot of the rough feeling it had.  And dropped a little oil and grease down in the hammer area when I cocked the hammer back to kind of smooth out that area.  That's all I did to it and shoot it.  All of the gritty feeling is gone and the trigger pull is a little over 4 lb.  It has a little over 3 lb with the 13# spring in it but I didn't like the trigger as much because it didn't have that crisper wall.  The lighter hammer springs really help the double action but I don't use it much anyway like that.  I have gotten used to the harder double action.  I really like the gun a lot.  I've not taken anything apart yet.  I won't until I have to.
