I have been extremely happy with my 4.5" P-10F barrel from Primary Machine, but PM doesn't make a replacement barrel for the 3.5" S model.  If they did, I would buy one in a minute.  Even threaded if that was all that was available.

I don't need any fancy finishes or fluting, just some very clean bore machining work and possibly tighter clearances/tolerances, in other words, an alternate to PM but with similar quality, if that is possible.

Any suggestions?

Probably not going go buy an aftermarket barrel for a while after all...

I've had some great targets at 100 and 200 yards over the last month with the little pistol, so I'm not going to change the barrel out.  I'll just live with the cleaning chores with the somewhat rough factory barrel.

I did buy an ISWB holster for the little gun.  That will hold me for now.

Now the P-10C is a different story, I will try to get a Primary Machine barrel for that one and hope it shoots as well as the one in my P-10F.

What are yalls thoughts on running these Primary Machine barrels in pistols for duty/defense? Are they reliable enough?

I have several thousand rounds through the PM barrel in my P-10F with zero problems and tons of fantastic targets to show.  Even though there are other options, I'm holding out for a PM barrel for my C and S models before trying something else.  They are adding another machine late this year, I think, and that should help them catch up and expand the lineup.

If they have what you want in stock, go for it is about all I can say.  I am an uncompensated PM fan boy, I suppose.

Thanks for the feedback, Joe. I have a PM barrel I have been running in a P09 for about a year now and have been very impressed. Zero issues as well.

Claymore504--One clarification regarding duty/defense use.

I use the same AA 115 JHP ammo for carry as I use for 100 and 200 yards at the range.  I can't confirm how reliable the PM barrels are for a hotter load with a different shaped bullet.  I'm not willing to change ammo for carry, as I think the AA ammo is enough firepower and I'm very confident in my ability to shoot the pistol well with that ammo.

I’m very happy with my barrel from killer innovations. I haven’t stretched the gun out to 100 yards, but I’d love to watch you do it in a YouTube video.

Thanks for this.  I've put the P-10S aside for a few weeks, I bought a Primary Machine P-10C barrel from Wobbly's estate sale to test out first.  I bet it is as good as the PM barrel I have in the P-10F.  The P-10S will have to wait.  Primary Machine may be caught up by then, but I may also try the Killer Innovations barrel as well.
