I have a number of older 14-round flush-fit MecGar mags for my P01. I like the flat baseplates best but the grip is short enough that the front of the baseplate runs into my pinky sometimes when inserting the mag. I've used Beretta 92 baseplates which are flush with the frontstrap but stick out further underneath, and I've tried the newer 15-round mags which have other issues with the heel of my hand.
Has anyone tried trimming the flat metal baseplates so they're flush with the front strap? I'm wondering what tool(s) you may have used, and what you finished the cut metal with.
Any info appreciated!
