Setting up a stock SP01 for suppressor
« on: April 20, 2024, 08:15:01 AM »
I have decided that I would like to get my first suppressor. The gun I will be setting up for it is a stock SP01. Obviously, I have to start with getting a threaded barrel. Can someone with some suppressor experience give me some  advice on what I need to do internally to change and optimize the setup for shooting subsonic ammo suppressed, i.e., any and all swapping of springs, recoil, hammer, trigger, and anything else I should know. New to this world, not new to CZ's, big fan. Thanks in advance for anyone that can give me some solid advice...

I don't think anything is done to the gun. It's all in the can. You need to buy a pistol suppressor which contains a special mechanism the rifle suppressors don't have.

The suppressor itself creates the "oomph" necessary to operate the slide. If it weren't done this way you'd need to swap out all those gun parts simply to remove your suppressor.

You can use a rifle suppressor on your 9mm pistol. For use on the pistol you'll need a piston cage for that suppressor. For instance, the Omega 9 suppressor works on your 300 Blackout carbine and 9mm PCC and 9mm pistols with threaded barrels.

You'll need a direct thread 1/2 x28 adaptor to fit the suppressor to your 9mm PCC as the Omega has 5/8 by 24 thread. In most cases, the piston cage will work on fixed barrels as that 1/2 x 28 adaptor.

Why would it be necessary to swap out all the parts to remove the suppressor? They just screw on, screw off (haha), so?... What I'm getting at, are there any considerations as far as any of your springs, say specifically the recoil spring, for the pistol to run better and avoid jams or whatnot, if shooting subsonic ammo? If any of my questioning sounds dumb, my apologies, I am a dummy when it comes to suppressors, subsonic ammo, and the like.

Sorry, I assumed you were talking about changing the springs to compensate for the added mass of the can and it's effect on barrel movement during recoil.

Your sights may need to be changed to be functional if they are covered by the silencer tube. I ordered a suppressor from Silencer Shop in February and picked up my suppressor from my dealer 44 days later. Processing time seems to have been reduced. The barrels  I bought a year ago while they were in stock for the TS 9mm  and 97b which Barstow needed to make. I bought a Rugged Obsidian 45 and it has yet to see range time.
