CZ P10F trigger
« on: March 02, 2024, 04:09:48 PM »
I've had very good luck with my P10F which shoots accurately and is quite reliable.  But recently the trigger has had some issues.  Most of the time, there is a smooth takeup followed by a wall which breaks cleanly for a striker fired gun.  But more recently, I sometimes encounter a false wall before the take up.  And sometimes when I break that wall there is no takeup and it fires. Other times I'll get the take up after this wall followed by the actual wall.  Every time this occurs, the trigger feels like it's hung up or there's a hard, plasticky feeling as if I have to break a wall of plastic rather than the metaphorical glass trigger.  The pistol gets cleaned every 200 rounds or so.  Any idea what is happening.  Just looking inside I don't see obvious problems.

Thanks for any ideas.

Some people have reported that the trigger safety gets hung up on the frame. I would look there first.

I've had a HBI trigger seize up and it was due to the failure of the spring for the trigger safety.  Check and see if the spring tension resets the safety device every time or if it sometimes fails.  This maybe an opportunity to replace or upgrade your trigger.

Is the pistol stock standard? I found on my (3) Czech built P10F's that they did not like the aftermarket extended slide releases (US made) ... they had an intermittent tolerance stacking issue which created an occasional trigger reset issue. I also have had an issue with 1 x broken safety trigger shoe spring and a worn-out safety shoe on HBI triggers with high round counts (they replace no questions asked) great service.
You can also look at the striker channel for debris especially small build ups of brass and carbon along with worn striker spring cups.

On my P10-C the trigger retaining pin walked out of position slightly and was catching the edge of the frame opening when the trigger was pulled.  You can rule out a handful of possibilities by careful inspection of your pistol.

I agree.  I had to take a small fine swiss cut file to the frame to open up the safety blade/ frame clearance.  Worked like a charm!
