In general, if any branch of the military or other government agencies used it, there will be "proof marks" stamp on the frame of the pistol. These can go as far as to contain, branch and unit numbers, especially in places like under the trigger guard.

I find that the Tapatalk app (free) is the EASIEST way to post, letting you connect to the Forum, create posts and upload photos from your phone. The free version limits you to 1 photo per post. I've upgraded to be able to upload multiple at a time.
That is how I've been posting to the Forum for a long time.
Just be sure to read the "stickies" on posting and reduce the image widths to within the required limits. The limits are set to make it easier for people to see without having to try to manipulate scrubber bars on your handheld portable devices.
