Help with Sights

Thanks for all the wise guidance from this crowd. After lurking for some time, I've picked up a 75 Compact and have new Lok grips and CGW springs on their way. What I'm having trouble finding from any vendor or combination of vendors - is a specific set-up that works well for me on 1911s, Sigs, and Brownings.  Specifically, a plain or serrated U-notch rear sight, and a phosphorescent yellow (usually tritium centered) front sight.  I find this combination suits my 72 year-old eyes, bringing them right to the big, bold front sight, with no distraction from dots on the rear sight.

Close alternatives are various brands of fiber optic front sights with square notch rear, and phosphorescent/tritium front sights with square notch rear sights - usually with rear tritium vials that stay dark in daylight - so they're not too distracting.  Night Fision makes a set like that for CZ 75s, and that will probably be my pick in the absence of other guidance from this experienced group.

So - Has anyone seen this unicorn set-up I'm looking for?  Thanks in advance.

I have these on my 75B stainless.  Some of the best combat sights I’ve found.   They work for me - they are quick on target, bold enough for my aging eyes.  Am going to put them on my other CZs once I get to it. That said, sights are like shoes, what works for me, may not “fit” you.

The Shadow 2 stock fiber optic front sight and rear notch sound close, with yellow fiber swapped for the red. They might fit your gun. A call to Cajun would probably solve the problem. A dot might be worth considering too. You  could always try a cheap one on an adapter plate for the dovetail.

I'm interested in your experience.  An email from Dawson Precision said that they don't make any sights that fit the CZ 75 Compact.  But I've seen a few posts that indicate that some do fit.

I have 2 sight sets from Dawson Precision. One is their fiber optic for my P-01 Omega and the other is their night sight set for my PCR. Both are great sights although the night sight set doesn’t work well with my right eye but great with left eye. I removed them from my PCR and replaced them with XS Big Dots.

In fact, my P0-1 Omega with the fiber optic is on my hip now. When I go to bed, my weapon light goes on. At night, the light fires up the fiber optic.

I’ll have to check Dawson Precision’s website to see if they still offer sights for CZ compacts.

I’m kind of between what I want to do with my new P-01 as well.  I was pretty set on the Dawson carry with fiber optic front.  I’m hesitant about the durability with fiber but everyone seems to be on board.  I’ve had a couple bad experiences with fibers and ducks guns but I’m willing to give it a go.  Also looked at the same set but with a tritium front.  I wish Dawson had some color options like Night Fision.  I initially looked at NF sights, but wonder if the rear is too high for carry…

Joe A how are the Big Dots on the PCR? Did you have to drill out the front sight?

No, I did not drill out front sight. Simply punch out the roll pin and gently tap out the front sight.

The Big Dot front sight is very large for a front sight. The reason for it being large is to allow it to be more visible in practically any kind of light and to be very quick to acquire. It is not a target sight but a defensive sight.

To install the front sight you have to file a groove in base for the roll pin. First, fit the base to the dovetail by filing evenly. File enough so you can push it fully in with considerable thumb pressure, (once you locate where to file the groove, you need to be able to push it off with thumb pressure so you won’t damage sight by driving it out). Push sight into dovetail to locate where to place the groove, place small punch in roll pin hole and hit punch hard several times to hopefully mark the base. Then do the other side. Then the tedious part of filing the roll groove.
