Armory Craft Dual Adjustable Trigger
« on: August 02, 2024, 10:19:10 AM »
Has anyone tried out an Armory Craft Dual Adjustable Trigger in their DA/SA CZ?  I am thinking of buying one as I like the design, but I don't want to throw good money out the window.  Thanks for any replies.

OK, I gather few to none have tried the Armory Craft Dual Adjustable CZ trigger in their pistols.  I decided to give one a try anyway and ordered one and installed it in my Shadow 2.  Install was pretty straightforward without incident.  Armory Craft claims the "take-up" or pre-travel adjustment screw should not be used without a short pull trigger kit.  I elected to give it a try anyway and I was able to get quite a bit of pre-travel out of my trigger pull in DA mode even though I don't have a reduced pull kit in the pistol.  In SA mode there is little discernible difference in trigger pull length, but it does feel shorter no doubt based on the design of the trigger blade.  There may be times when you will not be able to get the trigger blade in the pistol with the pre-travel screw installed, but this depends on clearance factors on your specific pistol.

Bottomline is I like this trigger blade without exception.  It is a truly flat blade design albeit curved with groves along the face of the trigger rather than just a smooth trigger face.  It is about as thin as a trigger blade can be without sacrificing strength.  It isn't cheap at around $65.00, but it isn't the most expensive trigger blade option on the market either.  I am pleased with it.

Interesting trigger I might have to try one of these. I do have the CGW one and do not like it. The blade is just a little to straight, short and smooth. My finger has a tendency to slide down and get under the tip of the trigger. I have tried it on a couple of different CZs like a 75b, Sp01 and right now it's in a P01. Out of the three the P01 functions the best with the least amount of finger slippage. Looking at the trigger on the AC website I think it wouldn't have the problems like the CGW one.

While I like the AC trigger blade I should comment on something I discovered with it.  It installed lickety split on my Shadow 2, but not on my Shadow 2 Carry or my P01.  I tried to install it on the P01 first and the pin for the trigger to trigger bar would not go completely through.  At first I didn't quite understand what was happening with it and I thought it was a defective part.  I ordered a second AC trigger blade and that was the one I installed quite easily in my Shadow 2.  I tried to install the original trigger blade I bought in my Shadow 2 Carry and it was a "no-go" again for the connecter pin.  I looked closely at the problem this time and it appears there is some interference between the AC trigger blade and the trigger bar.  AC does include a warning about this in their instructions and they state you may have to file down the area on the very front of the trigger bar to allow more room to insert the pin.  So that will be my next step in this process.  I don't think much material needs to be removed as the pin starts and goes thru one side of the trigger blade and bar, but not the other.  We shall see....

Never assume a part will just drop in and function as normal even in the case where the manufacturer claims they will. Having to fit parts such as this is extremely common, 1911 guys know this all too well.
I installed the CGW Pro Packages in 5 of my CZ's 3 of them went together perfectly. One required some minor fitting of the disco. One required fitting the trigger bar and trigger just as Armory Craft mentions here.
