Restoration of a '92 pre-B
« on: June 14, 2024, 02:54:41 PM »
Earlier I had posted about an old 75 that I was trying to identify. Thanks to all those who responded and helped in the process. It turns out to be a 75 pre-B that was made in 1992. It looked rough at the time, but I restored it with with a cerakote finish and CZ wooden grips, and it came out great. It shoots as well today as the day it was made. Attached are some pictures of the before and after.

Looks great; did you do any internal work or just the cerakote & grips?

Can you elaborate on your prep work of the exterior if any?  Curious as to techniques

Very nicely done!  8) Love the new grips and the Colorfill on the lettering! :)

To answer Tanners Owner, the only internal work that was necessary was to replace the magazine release spring (which was broken) and the ser spring. I confess that I didn't do any preparation of the exterior, other than taking the gun to a professional, so that I would not do any harm. I know my limits.

@DonB88: Don't keep us in suspense. Who did the restoration? What professional?

The professional was Dan Jones, of Dano's Cerakote, LLC. He is a guy that lives in Denham Springs, LA. I don't want to give out more information without his consent, but if you need to contact him, let me know and I will reach out. I think he did a spectacular job with the etching. I have seen some of his other work and his is a very talented artist. That is why I had to show it off.
