My CZ MTR Varmint Progression
« on: June 03, 2023, 06:17:58 PM »
Ok Guy's/Gal's

I am a shorter individual and if you have read any of my post on other rifles I always have to cut the LOP down on every rifle I own. Same goes for this MTR Varmint. I have been putting this off for over a Month or so now. Really did not want to cut the beautiful stock that is the MTR Varmint Stock. Plus I really could not find the Butt Plate that I wanted, and did not want a  Butt Pad on her.

So I decided to go a head and make my own Butt Plate out of 1/8" Brass. Really like the way it turned out. I cut the stock down to 12.5" LOP and fashioned the Butt Plate. Took me about 3hrs. today. Fits me really well and I can now easily rack the bolt and keep my cheek weld and eye center on the scope.

Here is a couple pictures just as I got it done. Now to just get the adjustable cheek riser in from the UK. Sometime around July 10th I believe, then I get to cut on the stock again.

Ok guy's,

Took her out to he range again today. She is a shooter. I have a 25 yard personnel range at least that is it till I get a bulldozer in to make a 100 yard range.

Really like the stock alterations so far till like I said the cheek riser comes in from the UK.

Targets 18 to 25 are CCI SV At the mentioned 25 yards. the bottom row where the dime is, the two targets on the right were also CCI SV and then broke out the Aguila Super Extra and shot the three targets on the right next to the dime. This target is smaller than it should be but the dime gives size reference. All 5 shot groups. 16 and 17 are from my BXR shot on a different day.

I always liked the look of the MTR rifles; they just look business like. Being a lefty, the stock doesn't work well for me, but you've made some useful improvements to yours.

Thank you for the reply. As nice as this rifle and stock is, I wish they would have done an adjustable riser and LOP from factory. I would have paid the extra cost like I am sure most would have.
