Where spent cases actually land and where they roll before stopping is 2 entirely different things.

My cases landed at the distances I mentioned.  I had a friend stand and mark the landing spot and had a tape measure laid out.

As I mentioned, I wasn't having issues with how the recoil timing was working or felt.  I only brought this up because the landing zone is quite longer than the recommended 6-8' range.

Is the stock spring 16# or 17#?

Thanks

I think guys put WAAYY more stock in this than is really warranted.

Agree.  I’m very happy with my P01s performance and don’t care how far it ejects.  Out of my three CZs, and all my pistols, it’s my favorite.

I agree as well.  I am very happy with mine as well.  I was just curious when I happened to notice the ejection distance one day.  I wanted to make sure the distances were not something to worry about regarding damaging the slide etc.  Sounds like my P-01 ejection rate is not that unique.

Thanks for all the replies!  If I do try some other spring weights I'll post back here just to follow up on this.

Don't know the weight of the stock spring. You could call CZ and ask them. Typically CZ's are sprung for NATO rounds or they used to be anyway. I know a couple of mine drop rounds further than what CGW claims they should but they are accurate, reliable and showing no discernable wear that would be caused by too weak or too heavy a recoil spring. I'm not at all worried.

I have CGW Pro Packages in all my CZ's and I use the 15lb hammer spring in all of them.

Thanks for pointing this out. I may go up to a 15# spring as well since I don't use the DA trigger pull.

From the CGW website:

"Do not use a hammer spring heavier than 15#’s with any extended firing pin."

Actually they say that for the 97 and the others they say for use with reduced power hammer springs. The theory is a factory standard hammer spring could pierce primers with the extended firing pin.
I should clarify all my metal framed CZ's have the 15lb. spring while I do use an 18lb. hammer spring in my P-07 with the extended firing pin and have had no issues of any kind.

I pulled that from a page that was for the short reset system, not the 97.

Yes, for the polymer hammer pistols, I use the 18# spring as well since it's the heaviest they offer.

I'm the one who was complaining about the recoil of the Shadow Line Compact, and I realized that I could use a 15# spring and probably like it even more.
