I thought all compacts where small frame? No??
Nope! There were also the Tanfoglio Large Frame Compact Pistols.
Large Frame denotes compatibility for the .45 ACP, 10mm, and .38 Super/9x25mm
Small Frame denotes compatibility for the 9x19mm/Luger, .40 S&W, and .41AE(long obsolete)
To further muddy the waters, there were Conversion Kits to allow the
Large Frame Pistols to use 9x19mm/Luger and .40 S&W Cartridges.
Tanfoglio Caliber Conversion kits proved to be not cost effective for the USA Market, but are still sold in European Markets where the quantity of firearms one may own, is more restricted.
