New Member with Slavia 620 Questions

Hi!  I've been doing a bit of research on my 620 but I've hit a dead end.  So far I've been able to determine that my 620 was made between 1958 and 1965 (it is stamped with the 1958 logo).  My father got this gun when he was a kid (he was born in 1954) and has passed it on to me.  The reciever is stamped with the serial number 377642 and below it is what looks like a picture of an arrow with the letters CSSH.  To the right of this is a stamp that looks sort of like SS but it's a little distorted looking and I can't say for certain that it is infact an SS.  To the right of the serial number is a stamp that seems to have been struck unevenly and is therefore mostly missing, but the part that is visible looks like a circle with a number 1 in it.

            My questions are:
            - Would any of the information I've given provide a manufacturing date?
            - Is it possible to revive or replace the leather seals for the piston?  The gun still works beautifully but it sounds dry when it's fired.
            - What is the FPS rating for this rifle and is there any way to improve on this velocity?

Thank you all very much for any help you may be able to provide!

            Jason

Hi I have an old 620 that i am rebuilding. You could revive your leather seal by soaking it in air tool oil for about a week. before I had to rebuild my 620 i was getting 675fps after installing a BSA Meteor main spring. With the original main spring (assuming that is what is in yours) you should get about 615-630fps depending on the condition of your seal and if your spring is still strong. Airbuddy3 makes great tune kits for slavia rifles.
