CZ 85 Combat - USPSA Production - Mag Change

Hey Gents:
Now that I've squared away my problems with the internal lobe of the Slide Stop needing to be shortened to avoid contact with feeding ammunition (especially my 147gr 135PF Mouse Fart Fodder) which was causing inadvertant slide locking, I have another question: In the quest of making faster mag changes (reviewed some video of yesterday's IPSC match and clearly my speed and technique need improvment) I want to improve the speed at which my OFM 16rd mags drop from the gun. To date, I have swapped out the OFM mag springs and put in Wolff +10% (actually +15% for a 75/85) knowing that would increase loading on the follower/slide lock lobe contact point - Actually had to chop 1.5 coils from the Wolf +10% (15%), it was effecting the slide. So now I'm loading more probably 25-30% via mag spring. I use CZ OFM rubber grips - great for grip but maybe they make mag departure tougher. I also thought about the little spring that controls/loads down the ambi side safety (right side), Maybe I could get more umph here ?. How about the magwell, widening a tad, could this help ?.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

You could also sand the inside of the grips, so that there less chance of the grips catching the mags...

Or, better yet (or in addition), treat the inside of the grips with some STP.  That tends to make various plastics VERY SLICK!

I had a screened porch added to my house this past fall.  We had to move the air conditioning unit before they could start.  A friend, who is an HVAC specialist, came and did it.  I helped.

One of the things we had to do was run the heavy electrical wires through a plastic conduit to keep it waterproof.  

He said this is going to be a pain, as its almost impossible to get the wires through the plastic conduit.  (There's some very expensive lubricant they use, but he didn't have any.  We started feeding the line, with electrician's tape over the ends through the tube.  After about 5 feet we were struggling.)

I ran out to my storage room, got some STP, liberally sprayed the wires and poured some down the tubing.  The wire just slide right through with no resistance!  My friend, started laughing -- he just shook his head.  The electricians around here had not learned about that, yet.  (It was a lucky guess on my part -- well not really a guess.  I've slid off a car seat or two after hitting the vinyl with STP...)

Jon you are probably already doing this.

Be sure to hit the mag release early while the magazine is still perpendicular to the ground it gets out of the pistol quicker.

How about doing that flick thing one does with glocks to get that sticky mag out pronto?

I have the rubber CZ grips on two of mine, the mags jump right out with gravity. Look and feel up into the mag area and see if your grips hang in a little too far and are slowing down a mag drop.

I beveled one of my CZ's mag wells, but that is not legal for USPSA production class. I think it is considered an external modification. It sure didn't hurt anything, makes a bigger target for slamming a fresh one home.
