CZ 75B TACTICAL SPORT POLYMER TRIGGER
« on: February 07, 2007, 10:51:13 AM »
I've been flipping the coin as to which gun to buy......the CZ 75B Tactical Sport or the S&W 952 Long Slide.  Both guns appear to get great reviews.  However, I have never owned any gun with a polymer trigger (CZ 75B) and I'm hesitant on buying one not knowing how durable it is long term.  True, the S&W is about $1000 more but comes with a life-time warranty.  CZ offers 5 yrs. on their guns.  Price is not really an object with me since I own every gun I've ever purchased and will never sell any of them.  I'm after quality, accuracy, and durability.  Any comments or help on the trigger  would be much appreciated.

If the bleeped trigger breaks, it can be replaced with a steel one.  It can be replaced before it breaks -- not that they have a reputation for breaking.

If that's your only concern, it ought not be an issue.

Incidentally, this area is for the 75B Tactical, not the Tactical Sport.  Check the Tactics and Competition area for guys who shoot IPSC and the Tactical Sport.

In fact, I'll move it there.

STI's often come with plastic triggers...

The plastic trigger is fine.  They're metal replacements available too.

buy both :)

I did.

Very comparable 2, but each feels very different.

BTW, don't worry about the trigger.  You won't break it unless you are one of those shooters who has a long hard pull instead of a flicking one.

Obviously most of us here will recommend the Tactical Sport.
I have one in .40S&W and I've contemplated replacing the plastic trigger with a metal/steel version, but I'm comfortable with the stock trigger.
like what was mentioned earlier, unless you are the type of shooter that puts a lot of pressure on the trigger after the hammer falls, I don't think you'll really notice a difference, plus, you can always switch between the 2.  I believe both have adjustments for overtravel.

I have two CZ's with plastic triggers in them now.  I shoot one of them regularly in competition.  I do not believe that the plastic trigger is an issue at all.  I find that it works as well or better than any metal trigger on any CZ clone that I have ever shot or owned.

That being said; the CZ 75 Tactical Sport is an awsome pistol!  Accurate, reliable, good support from CZ USA.  Unless you have a very soft spot for Smith and Wesson, I would advise you to give CZ a try!

I bet you will be very happy with your purchase.

Yours,
Bob Troxell.

Its way better to use the alloy trigger in the TZ the trigger return spring is not so strong that why the trigger is lighter we have had reset problems using the steel trigger in the TS.
We will probably go to the lloy trigger for the CZ 75 as well the lighter trigger means less trigger reset spring and a a lighter trigger pull in SA only mode.
