Picked up two 82s within the last two weeks...one is from 1988, the other 1990. What should I look for to see if the recoil spring needs replacing? I read on another thread that an 18 lb Wolff spring should be installed if HPs are used. I just ordered some HPs and FMJ from Cheaper Than Dirt...for the most part will be shooting the FMJ for target practice but would switch to the HPs if I carry concealed.
Any thoughts on which spring you all use and how to tell if the ones in the guns have been there awhile and should be replaced.
