Are 32 and 380 recoil springs the same thing?
« on: December 29, 2008, 11:02:39 AM »
If my 32 ejects too robustly (12 feet) I assume a stiffer spring would probably reduce that.  But, CZ just shows a CZ83 recoil spring with no mention of caliber.  If they are all the same then I would try one of the Wolff springs in a heavier weight.  If CZ differentiates, I would try the 380 or Mak spring.  The barrel od is the same for all calibers, yes?

There being a big difference in power between the .32 and .380, I would think the recoil springs would be different, but I don't know. Changing the spring to shorten the distance that the brass is thrown might have some unintended consequences, like changing the timing of operating cycle. I would talk to someone at CZ or Wolff.

The stiffer spring should reduce thrown brass distance, but it will also return to battery with more force, so I would be careful. John

Yes, use the same spring according to CZ. See a more recent post of this question on page 1.
