Hey all,

I took the plunge and ordered a 75B SA in 9mm from the CZ Custom Shop.  So far I love it.  It fits my hand like a glove and is more accurate than I am.  The trigger was a bit gritty at first, but a bit of polishing on the sear face and hammer hooks made it super smooth.  It now breaks really clean and smooth.  There's a tiny bit of positive engagement, i.e. hammer moves back just a tiny bit before trigger breaks, but not enough to complain about.  This is really a fantastic pistol.

One thing I did notice that was a bit odd, mine does not have a half cock notch in the hammer.  The CZ-USA website and several other sources list a "Safety Stop on Hammer," but mine doesn't have one.  The 75B and SP01 I shot before buying this one both had the half cock notch.  Not a big deal really.  I just thought is was a little odd.  Anyone else notice this in their SA's?

Oh, I also didn't care for the rough looking grey finish on the barrel, so I polished the barrel (but not the locking lugs) to a nice white steel shine.  I also swapped out the stock plastic grips for some Hogue wrap-around rubber grips with finger groves.  They are much thinner and feel great.  I haven't decided yet if I want to keep the front finger grooves though.  I may cut them off and smooth the edges.  Going to hit the range a few more times before deciding.

Hey Mr. Fender,

I've got the 75B SA also, love it. My single action doesn't have the half cock notch either. I figured since it isn't double action and the hammer must be fully cocked by hand before the first shot anyway that there was no half cock notch on the hammer. I assumed it was the was the gun was designed.

When I checked both Ghost Products and CZUB they also say the SA model has a safety stop on the hammer. It does sound like another term for the half cock notch so I don't know what to think.

It does have a firing pin block and could be carried safely in full cock mode with the safety on so it doesn't bother me. I wouldn't change, or trade in or sell my SA for anything and shoot it almost as much as my Shadow. So I guess to me I guess it's also a moot point.

You should post a photo, I'd love to see one with the Hogue wrap arounds. I've got the cocobolo's on mine.
CZ 75 SP01 Shadow, strong enough for a man, but she likes it too!
