New Owner intro
« on: February 23, 2009, 10:15:23 PM »
Just picked up my SP-01 Tactical today and am back from running 200 rounds, mostly my reloads, at the gun shoppe's indoor range.

What can I say that you all don't already know? Flawless performance, accurate beyond my means, and a real joy to shoot. I've been pistol shooting for over 45 years and this is one sweet machine that has truly lived up to my high expectations.

Couldn't leave the store without buying the Kadet Adapter kit too, and it will get a workout on my next range trip.
Various firearms in .22LR, .380ACP, 7.62x25, 7.62x38R, 7.62x54R, 9mm and 45ACP. Lee reloading equipment

You've said it !
I am interested in finding out how that Kadet slide unit works out for you? How closely matched are the sight pictures between the two guns?

$350 for an adapter?  Might as well just buy an entirely new gun.

Back nearly 40 years ago when I bought my first pistol, A new Walther P-38, I picked up their .22LR conversion kit. I use it often for economical target plinking maintaining the same basic platform of the centerfire version. I have a Springfield 1911A1 and always check out reports of the several conversion kits out there.

I own a great .22LR pistol, a Browning Buckmark and it has seen tens of thousand of rounds by now.

My thinking on buying the CZ made Kadet conversion kit for my CZ SP-01 (and yes it is pricey) was the same last week as it was when I got the one for the Walther long ago. A low cost way to practice. I now reload all the calibers to match my handguns so centerfire shooting costs me half of what I used to spend on 'store bought' ammo, but nothing can ever beat the economies of the venerable .22LR. Handgun accuracy isn't about how big a hole you can make, it's how close together you can make the holes - LOL
