I just got this CZ52 and shot it today. and after the last shot for the mag ,I noticed the slide was not locking back. I have two mags So i used both of them , One of them , the slide once in awhile wold lock back. I shot around 250 rds thru it. I had no jams and no misfires, the gun is excellent, except for the slide not locking back all the time when the last shot is fired. Anyone have any ideas, how to fix this , i would definitely appreciate it.... Thank Mac

Everyone says that, but it's the most common reason for a failure to lock back, especially if the shooter is using a high 'thumbs forward' grip. The slightest downward pressure is enough to cause the failure. To absolutely eliminate it as a cause, shoot the pistol left handed. Once you've confirmed it's not the reason, the next place is the mags, specifically the followers and springs. Do they lock the slide open manually? If they do, then try a different ammo, if they don't try new springs/followers.

I understand what you are saying, My friend shot it and he is left handed. I also used his mag out of his CZ52. same thing. Now the other thing i am thinking, It has wood grips on it and they were made by the person who owned it. now they might be pinching the slide lever when firing the pistol ,specially if you got a death hold on it. Which i like to grip my pistols tight. I have new Bakelite  oem grips coming, so i will swap them an see what happens from there. Thanks again for you info,  Mac

The pin on my slide release walked out while I was shooting so I  took the opportunity to replace it with the extended slide release and adjustable pivot pin from Gunparts Warehouse. That cured the problem I had with one of my magazines.  Now the slide locks back on all three of my magazines.
