Recoil spring guide rod flaking

The guide rod is flaking what looks like plating off @ the breech end. Anybody else have this problem & is it normal?

If you're referring to the full length guide rod found in the 40S&W version of the 75B, then yes, it's pretty common. See
this thread
too.

Thanks! I found that thread after I did a search. Strange that they would plate the rod. I'm concerned about the flakes getting into the slide. I took a wire wheel to it & a little came off. Will keep an eye on it.
