Hello All-
I signed up today after experiencing failures to reset the last time I shot my P01 (after about 950 rounds of mostly Win White Box with some CCI Blazer thrown in. I assumed it was the dreaded trigger spring failure (my gun is about 3 years old) and I was already sourcing a new spring and replacement trigger pin.
When I removed the slide, it didn't look like the trigger spring was broken, and when I gave the stuck trigger bar a nudge it would weakly move forward along with the trigger. After playing with it a bit to see how it all worked (I should probably do this with my guns before I have a problem!), I noticed that the trigger bar and trigger were resetting a little more briskly. Either the gun needs some lube, or it's dirty, or both, but it doesn't look like anything is actually broken.
After doing a couple of searches on this board, it looks like it might be OK to flush it with brake cleaner once I take the grip panels off, as long as I thoroughly lube it afterwards. Maybe I should try a bit of spray lube before I resort to the brake cleaner. Any thoughts about which to try first?
At any rate, this is a big relief. I recently found out my PPK/S is under recall, and I don't need any more gun tragedies for a while.
