I took an Intermediate Concealed Handgun Fighting course last weekend. Eight (
hours total instruction, including two (2) hours on the range putting what we learned into practice. The range was outdoors, and it was brutally cold outside, the day after a good half foot snow fall. I was using my CZ75B and Winchester 115 FMJ ammo. My pistol was one of the few to fire without malfunction. I have put several hundred rounds out of this pistol previously with no problems, but never in such cold weather. The instructors were using Glocks that functioned flawlessly, too. Not a good day for the M&P's and XD's.
The CZ75B has been my concealed carry gun since I purchased it toward the beginning of the year. This exercise has given me complete confidence in the weapon, not easy being a lifelong revolver shooter. I have shot semi-autos in the past, and have not been impressed with the reliability under all conditions. So far, I have not found a condition where the CZ has trouble. My sons (Oldest with a CZ75B, Middle with a P-01, and the youngest with a P-01) have had similar experience. I am happy enough with the CZ that I recently purchased a CZ75BD as a second gun.
